Georgia Holt, who was a singer and actor and Cher's mother, has died. Cher, who is 76 years old, wrote on Twitter Saturday night, "Mom is gone."
In 2013, a documentary on Holt titled "Dear Mom, Love Cher" aired on the Lifetime network and lasted for one hour.
The documentary interviewed Holt, her daughters Cher and Georganne LaPiere, and Cher's children Chaz Bono and P. Exeter Blue
Cher said about the documentary at the time, "It's a good Mother's Day special, but it's not Hallmark."
Holt started the project when she found tapes of an album she recorded with Elvis Presley's band in 1980 but never put out.
Cher had the tapes remastered and then filmed her mother singing and talking to help Holt reach a goal he had not yet reached.
It turned out to be a 16-minute video that was a "little gift for her 86th birthday." Then, it turned into a more in-depth look back at an unusual family
She was recognised for her performances in "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" in 1955 and "I Love Lucy" and "Jane Wyman Presents the Fireside Theatre" in 1956.
